Position Title

Manager - Quality

Purpose of Role

To Implement best of the best Quality activities in Project Site- Transmission lines from 220Kv to 756KV and Substation from 400Kv to 765KV in AIS.

Critical Success Factors - Essential

  1. Degree/Diploma in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with relevant QA/QC experience in infrastructure, power transmission or EPC projects
  2. Hands-on experience in implementation and monitoring of Project Quality Plans, ITPs, method statements and approved drawings
  3. Strong experience in site inspections, identification of quality deviations, raising NCRs and driving timely closure
  4. Experience in conducting/supporting internal and external quality audits and ensuring compliance with observations
  5. Strong capability in quality documentation and reporting, including daily/weekly/monthly reports, NCR logs and final project quality reports

Critical Success Factors - Desirable

  1. Certification in ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems / Lead or Internal Auditor
  2. Experience in power transmission, substation or T&D projects
  3. Exposure to contractor/vendor quality management and third-party inspections
  4. Familiarity with HSE and integrated QHSE management systems
  5. Working knowledge of root cause analysis, CAPA and continuous improvement tools

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  1. Ensure implementation of Sterlite Power Transmission Limited Quality Plans & Policy
  2. Support section manager, site engineer & supervisor to communicate method statements & standard procedure down to the worker’s level.
  3. Monitor implementation of Quality Plans and raise non-conformance if any deviation found
  4. Facilitate Quality internal & external audit and assist HSE head in compliance of the non-conformity raises.
  5. Exercise authority to suspend work, in case of deviations in Field Quality plans and drawing requirement, until corrective actions are taken
  6. Assist Project Head to conduct periodical HSE coordination meetings with Sterlite POWER / Contractors / Partners / other governing body and raise important issues to Unit management.
  7. Escalate any deviation/observation to Head QHSE for action.
  8. Daily Inspection Report – This report shall contain the details of location-wise activities performed on a day along with observations and photographs. Weekly Consolidated Report – Consolidated report of all the locations covered in a week.
  9. Monthly Report – Consolidated report of all the locations covered in that month, identified issues and issues closed.
  10. Quality Violation or Non-Conformity Report – All observed safety violation or noncompliance’s shall be reported as NCR. Regular follow-ups for timely closure of the same shall also be done.
  11. Consolidated NC Logbook – All identified non-compliances shall be entered in the logbook and the status of the same shall be updated regularly.
  12. Final Consolidated Project Quality Report – To be submitted at the end of the project.
  13. The lead shall report to the Project QA Coordinator of Sterlite– HO.
  14. All identified critical issues shall be communicated over phone and email immediately to HSE controller, in addition to the reports listed above.
